This is my husbands recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients
500g Squid ring (chopped into calamari size pieces)
1/2 cup flour
1 Egg
1/4 cup milk
200g breadcrumbs
2 tsp salt
1tsp white pepper
1tsp cracked pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
Preheat oven to 150*
1/ Lightly dust calamari with flour, shaking off any access.
2/ In a bowl combine egg and milk, whisk.
3/ In another bowl combine the breadcrumbs, salt and pepper.
4/ Dip the calamari into the egg/milk mix, then into the breadcrumb mix, then onto a plate.
5/ When batch is done put the plate in the fridge for 20 mins or so for the batter to stick.
6/ After 20mins, heat oil in saucepan and deep fry calamari in batches until golden brown. Dry on paper towel and keep warm in oven until the whole lot is complete.
